ELDERBERRY CONCENTRATE

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup elderberries

  • 48 ounces water (to start)

  • 1 slice lemon

  • 1 cinnamon stick

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a large pot, bring the water, elderberries, lemon slice, and cinnamon stick to a boil.

  2. Let boil for about 15 minutes, adding extra water if too much reduces.

  3. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool.

  4. Strain (optional, depending on preference).

  5. Transfer to a carafe or jar and refrigerate.

NOTES FROM MY TABLE

  • Immune Boost Shot: Take 1 small shot of concentrate when you’re not feeling well.

  • Cold Brew Tea: Mix 1 cup elderberry concentrate with 2 cups cold water. Add honey and a lemon slice.

  • Refreshing Mocktail: Combine 1 cup sparkling water, 1 cup elderberry concentrate, and ½ cup pineapple or orange juice.

  • Breakfast Elixir: Blend 1 cup elderberry concentrate with 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice. Garnish with an orange slice.

  • Healing Hot Tea (most important): Mix equal parts concentrate and hot water. Add honey and lemon for comfort when sick.
