THE ENERGY HIDING IN YOUR CLOSET

There is a kind of energy we rarely talk about, the kind that hangs quietly in closets and drawers, tucked into sleeves, stitched into seams, and folded into fabric. We carry memories in our clothing. We hold versions of ourselves in pieces we no longer wear, stories we haven’t fully let go of, and identities we’ve outgrown but haven’t released.

This is not about whether something fits your body. This is about whether it fits your life, your spirit, your season. The closet can become a resting place for old energy. Shirts worn during heartbreak, jeans from a version of you who doubted her worth, dresses that belonged to jobs you stayed too long in, outfits you bought to be someone you thought you were supposed to be. Sometimes we hold on out of nostalgia, sometimes out of guilt, and sometimes because we haven’t yet asked ourselves who we are now.

This is a soul clean.

It’s not just about organization. It’s about clearing energetic residue. It’s about making space for who you are becoming.

Let this be your invitation to do more than declutter. Let this be the moment you open your closet with new eyes and listen.

1. LOOK AT IT ALL.

Begin with presence. This is your summer soul clean. Carve out the time and set the atmosphere. Light a candle. Open the windows. Play music that calls in the version of yourself you are currently honoring. This is not a rush-through-it moment. This is sacred time with yourself.

Take everything out. Piece by piece. Touch each item. Don’t just glance and toss. Feel. Remember. Pay attention to what your body says, what memories come up, what images flicker in your mind. Who were you when you wore this? What emotions live in this fabric? What part of your story is this connected to?

Sometimes you’ll find a smile. Sometimes, a sting. Both are information.

This is not about judging yourself for what you’ve held on to. It’s about finally seeing it.

2. ENERGY LIVES IN THREADS.

Every garment carries an imprint. Some clothes still hold the weight of a moment. Others feel like softness, like laughter, like a day you remembered who you were. Energy stays in fabric far longer than we realize. Even if it’s tucked away in a bin or hanging quietly at the back of the rack, it lingers.

And so, we ask again. Is it yours to carry anymore?

Some pieces make you feel small. Some were never really yours. Some feel like armor, because that’s what you needed at the time. But armor is heavy. You don’t need to dress for survival anymore. You are healing into a new way of being. The closet should reflect that.

This is not about trends. This is about truth.

3. RELEASE WITH INTENTION.

It’s time to let it go.

The blouse you wore to hide your sadness. The jeans you squeezed into when you were still punishing your body. The outfit that belonged to a chapter you’ve long since completed. These are not just clothes. These are energetic bookmarks. You are allowed to release them.

Do it gently. Do it with care. Thank them if you want to. Donate them. Pass them on. Cut ties with grace. If you need to write down what you're letting go of and burn the paper after, do that too. Make it a ritual that feels right to you. This is not about throwing things away. This is about honoring the version of you that no longer needs to carry them.

You are not getting rid of anything. You are freeing yourself.

4. CALL IN THE YOU YOU’RE BECOMING.

Now, look again.

What still belongs with you? What clothes make you feel open, alive, whole? What reflects your softness, your fire, your expansion? What pieces feel like the woman you are becoming?

You do not have to shop for a new wardrobe. You may only need to bring awareness to what you already have, or what you are ready to welcome. Let this be about alignment. Let this be about resonance.

Choose to dress in what matches the version of you who no longer hides. Who breathes fully. Who walks into her day without shrinking or performing.

The closet is not just a place to store things. It’s a mirror. A portal. A reflection of who you were, and a powerful space to honor who you are now.

Clean it with love. Dress with intention. And let your clothes speak the truth of your becoming.
